I have been with Covert Action since July 2018. I began my journey here at the front desk and moved to the counseling position in November 2018. I studied criminal justice at DMACC and earned my associate degree in criminal justice/corrections in May of 2018. I have my CADC (certified alcohol and drug counselor) license.
Substance abuse runs in my family, and I was not an exception, however, I have been in recovery for 14 years. I am here to provide empathetic, non-judgmental help to all those on their own recovery journey and I believe in meeting people where they are.
I have 4 children aged 20, 18, 16, and 14. I was born and raised on the East side of Des Moines and still live there. I have 2 Pitbulls, a Great Dane, 4 cats, a lizard, and 8 chickens at my home. In my free time, I like to go on trips, be outdoors, spend time with my family, and binge-watch tv shows.
